Build a Smart City with Lego Wedo 2.0
About Education Edition:
An educational version of the popular sandbox game, Minecraft: Education Edition empowers students to engage in student-centered and collaborative learning environments. Our courses encourage learning through exploration and play, which is encouraged by the familiar and modular world of Minecraft. We focus on using Minecraft to teach STEM concepts within an extensive workshop framework, where students learn broadly through hands-on activities.
Sessions will take place physically, with an instructor overseeing a maximum of six students. To keep everybody safe, safe distancing measures will be strictly enforced to maintain a 1-meter distance between participants. A laptop with Minecraft: Education Edition installed will be provided to the students during the course.
All workshops will begin with teaching students the basics of coding and computational thinking to ensure there is a level playing field.
Here's what students will have learned by the end of this workshop:
The four aspects of computational thinking and how to apply them to solve problems.
What is an 'event' in programming and how to combine them.
How to exercise logical thinking to solve problems and choose the right answer for the situation.
What is an event trigger/event handler and how they are used in programming.
